Empire Allstars Season's Final Test Invitational Tournament
Coordinating Instructions: Click here for a .pdf version of this page.
The format of the tournament is such that each team will play all teams in their designated pool. Following the third game on Sunday morning, the top teams in each pool will participate a single elimination playoff format. If a team has been scheduled for more than three games prior to the championship rounds begin, the first three games played by said team, will determine their seeding for the playoffs. Playoff brackets will be posted at the site. Those teams advancing to their respective championship rounds...may play as many as 5 games total. Teams not qualify for the championship bracket will participate in a consolation bracket...to achieve their fourth game.
The designated home team will be responsible for keeping the official or “home” book. The home team is hereby designated as the first team listed in the schedule pairing. In addition, the home team, as designated above shall wear light colored jerseys for their games, and the away team shall wear dark or colored jerseys. If a team only has one set of jerseys, they should come prepared with their own "pinnies" for wear over their jerseys, in those games as appropriate.
Rules:
No 30-second clock…ten second backcourt rule is in effect.
Minimum of 3 minutes for pre-game warm-up…more if time allows at the discretion of the tournament director or his designated site coordinator.
Games will consist of two 16 minutes (stop time) halves. If during the last 10 minutes of the game, one team is ahead of the other team by 25 points or more….the clock will then be “run time”…and will not commence stop time again, until the margin of score is reduced below 15 points. Due to the fact that the championship games for the 13 & 14 U brackets will be the third and/or fourth game of the day for some teams, the game times for these games have been shortened to two, 12 minute halves...so as to recognize athlete fatigue and avoid the potential for injury.
Four timeouts per game…no minimum per half…2 @ 30 seconds, 2 full timeouts.
Three minute half time.
Protests will be decided by the officials.
Shooting fouls…2 shot penalty after 10 team fouls, no one and one. Players can move on the release of the shot.
Overtime…3 minutes per O/T. Additional O/T’s are 1 minute..
Abusive languages by coaches, players and/or parents and other spectators will not be tolerated. This includes the prolonged and/or repetitive badgering of officials. There is no place for this at this tournament. Those using same are subject to immediate ejection from the tournament site without refund…not just the game in which the misuse occurs.
Tie breakers to determine finish place in pool play, in the order listed.
